Shopping centre footfall is the British name for shopping center foot traffic, and high street footfall is the equivalent of main street or downtown traffic. Huq has measured both in the UK and Europe for years and now measures shopping centers and main streets across the US, weekly and without counters. Its map includes shopping center and retail center types, so peer centers are easy to find. Request a free analysis for your center or main street.

The overview video tours the Huq platform. For a center or main street, watch how the asset is picked from the shopping center and retail center layers on the Explore map, how foot traffic, catchment and dwell appear for it, and how a portfolio of centers is tracked in Projects with monthly PDF reports for owners and investors.

Shopping centre footfall is the number of people visiting a shopping center over a period. High street footfall is the same measure for a town's main shopping street. In the US, owners and investors say mall or shopping center foot traffic, and main street or downtown traffic.
Owners use it to show tenants the traffic a center attracts, back leasing decisions and compare the asset with peer centers. Investors use it in due diligence. Cities and downtown groups use it to judge whether events and investment bring people in.
Counters at entrances measure your own doors. Huq measures from outside, so you can compare your center with competing centers and main streets, and see residents versus visitors, where visitors come from, how far they travel, how long they stay and which other places they visit. Data updates weekly, and monthly PDF reports give owners and investors a ready summary.

Many centers use counters or sensors at their own entrances. Huq measures visits from outside, with no hardware, so you can also measure competing centers and main streets. Owners often use both: counters for internal reporting, Huq for benchmarks, catchment and cross-visitation.
There is no single number. Good footfall depends on the center's size, format and location, so compare it with similar centers nearby. Huq benchmarks your center against peer centers on weekly visits, dwell time and visit frequency, and shows how the gap changes over time.
Footfall is the British word for foot traffic: the number of people visiting a place over a period. Shopping centre footfall counts visits to a mall or center, and high street footfall counts visits to a town's main shopping street. Huq measures both across the US, weekly and without counters.
Weekly. Each week's visits are added to the Huq platform, so you can see the effect of a new anchor tenant, an event or a closure within weeks. Data feeds arrive as CSV or Parquet files in Amazon S3 or Google Cloud Storage.
