Consumer behavior data usually means online browsing, purchase records or survey answers. Huq covers what people do in the physical world: where they go, how often they return, how long they stay and which places they visit together, for any US address, updated weekly. In selected markets it adds demographic profiles and geo-spend. Use it in the Huq platform or take it as data feeds. Start with a free analysis of one location or a small set.

Huq platform overview video: a visitor heat map

The overview walks through the Huq platform: the Explore map, the behavior metrics each area returns, Projects for monitoring many locations, and exports. For consumer behavior data, watch for visit frequency, dwell time, time of day and cross-visitation, which describe how people use a place rather than just how many arrive. Analysts who prefer their own tools can take the same metrics as data feeds.

  • Frequency, dwell time and dayparts: separate loyal regulars from one-off trips and show when each group visits.
  • Cross-visitation: shows which other places the same visitors go to, for up to 10 location pairs at once.
  • Data feeds: Parquet and CSV files delivered into your Amazon S3 or Google Cloud Storage bucket, ready for models and BI tools.

What is consumer behavior data?

Consumer behavior data records what people do, prefer and decide as shoppers. It comes in several types: transaction and purchase records, online clickstream, survey and household research, and foot traffic data from physical places. Each answers a different question, and most providers specialize in one.

Huq does not provide online, survey or individual purchase data. It covers physical-world behavior: visits to stores, centers, main streets and other places, how long people stay, how often they come back, what time of day they visit, where they travel from and which other places they also visit. In selected markets it adds demographic profiling and geo-spend by volume and category. Huq manually validates more than 1,000 locations in each of its 35 markets twice a year.

Teams use it to choose sites, track store and competitor performance, check whether an opening or campaign changed visits, and add an offline signal to models that already hold online or sales data.

Frequently asked questions

What is real-world consumer behavior data?

Real-world consumer behavior data describes what people do in physical places rather than online. Huq measures visits to stores, centers, main streets and other places, how long people stay, how often they return, where they travel from and which other places they also visit. It sits alongside clickstream and survey data, which Huq does not provide; geo-spend by category is available in selected markets.

How do you analyze consumer purchase behavior data?

Start with a clear question, then segment purchases by store, time period and customer group and compare trends. Huq does not hold individual purchase records, but its visit data adds the context sales figures miss: whether a drop came from fewer visits, shorter stays or fewer repeat trips, and how competitor stores moved. In selected markets, geo-spend by category adds a location-level spend view.

How is Huq data delivered?

Three ways. Work in the Huq platform with the Explore map and Projects; export CSV or Excel files and monthly PDF location reports; or take data feeds, with Parquet and CSV files delivered into your Amazon S3 or Google Cloud Storage bucket. Feed schemas match the platform exports, so the numbers drop straight into BI tools and models.

What is in the free analysis?

Choose one US location or a small set, including competitor sites. We send a sample analysis with weekly visits, dwell time, visit frequency, visitor origin and cross-visitation between the locations. It is free and needs no hardware or data from you.

How often is the data updated?

Weekly. Each new week is added to the history, so you can follow trends as they build, compare against the same week last year and see the effect of openings, closures or campaigns without waiting for a quarterly report.

Which places does Huq cover in the US?

Any address across the US, including stores, shopping centers, main streets and other venues. Huq works in 35 markets and manually validates more than 1,000 locations in each market twice a year. No sensors, cameras or hardware are needed, so your own sites and competitor sites are measured on the same basis.
