Huq's location data shows how people use places across Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Pick any address: a store on a shopping street, a city centre or a shopping centre. You see footfall by week, month and year, residents and visitors, catchment by postcode and dwell time. Data teams receive Parquet or CSV files in Amazon S3 or Google Cloud Storage. Everyone else uses the map and Excel exports. Data refreshes weekly.

How Huq turns location data into answers

Huq platform overview video: a visitor heat map

Watch for the Explore map in this overview. An area drawn around a shopping street or a shopping centre returns footfall and catchment measures. Technical teams receive the same location data each week as Parquet or CSV files, so the map is a quick way to judge what those files would hold for your sites.

  • Drawing an area or loading a saved site on the Explore map.
  • Footfall, catchment and visitor metrics for that place.
  • Exports to CSV or Excel, the same fields as in the data feeds.

What is location data for retail and property in DACH?

Location data describes how people use places. For a retailer, landlord or investor it answers simple questions. How busy is this site? Is it getting busier? Who comes here, from where, and how long do they stay?

Door counters only measure your own entrances. They say nothing about competitor stores, sites you have not opened yet, or a whole city centre. Location data from Huq covers any address in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, with no hardware.

Accuracy matters. Huq publishes its accuracy by country. Germany is Huq's best market, with a MAPE of 13.5% against landlord-reported footfall. That figure applies to Germany only. The validation report lists the countries and sample sizes published so far, and Huq has 800+ validated target areas across Europe.
