Places data usually means a POI database: names, addresses, categories and coordinates for points of interest. Huq includes POI, brand location, industry and shopping center layers on its Explore map, then adds what a list of places can't tell you: how many people visit each place every week, where they come from, how long they stay and where else they go. Request a free analysis for places you choose.

The overview video shows the Huq platform from map to export. Watch the Explore map's layers, including POIs, brand locations and shopping centers, then see how visits, origin and dwell appear once a place is selected. It finishes with exports and data feeds, which is how you join Huq's measures to your own place list.

Places data, also called POI or point of interest data, is reference information about physical places: a business's name, address, coordinates, category, brand and sometimes opening hours or building outline. Data teams use it to map stores, count competitors in an area and join other datasets to the right location.
Origin-destination data is a related term. It usually means trip matrices between zones, which transport planners use to model travel demand.
Huq puts both layers in one platform. Its Explore map includes POIs, brand locations, industries and shopping and retail center types, and for any place it measures weekly visits, visitor origin and catchment, dwell time and cross-visitation. Your POI data tells you what is there. Huq also tells you how busy it is and who it draws, which is what you need to choose a site or judge a competitor.
01
Weekly visit counts for each place you supply, so you can rank sites by how busy they really are.
02
Where each place's visitors come from, mapped by area. This is origin-to-place data, not a zone-to-zone trip matrix.
03
POI, brand location and industry layers on the map, so each place is seen next to its neighbors.
04
The share of visitors two places have in common, compared for up to 10 location pairs at once.

01
Weekly visits for every place in your list on one chart. Use it to rank locations, spot outliers and see which places are growing.
02
The origin map shades areas by their share of a place's visitors. It shows the catchment a POI record can't: who actually comes, and from where.
03
Average time spent at each place, side by side. Longer dwell often points to a destination; short dwell to a quick stop.
Huq covers any address in the United States: shopping centers, main streets, downtowns, strip malls, competitors' stores and sites you haven't opened yet. No counters, sensors or cameras needed.
Huq manually validates more than 1,000 locations in each of its 35 markets twice a year, and data refreshes weekly.
Step 1

POI (point of interest) data, also called places data, is reference information about physical places: name, address, coordinates, category and brand. It tells you what exists and where. Huq's Explore map includes POI and brand location layers, then adds how those places are used: weekly visits, where visitors come from, how long they stay and where else they go.
From a places or POI database provider, which sells lists of businesses with addresses, categories and coordinates. Huq's platform includes POI, brand location and industry layers, and adds how people use each place: weekly visits, visitor origin, dwell time and cross-visitation. Its data feeds let you join those measures to the POI database you already have.
Not in the transport-planning sense. Origin-destination data usually means trip matrices between zones, used to model travel demand. Huq shows where visitors to a specific place come from, mapped by area. That suits catchment and trade area work rather than traffic modeling.
Huq data updates weekly. Use it on the Explore map and in Projects, export CSV, Excel or monthly PDF reports, or take data feeds: Parquet or CSV files delivered into your Amazon S3 or Google Cloud Storage bucket, ready to join to your own place list.
Huq measures visits to any address across the US, including stores, shopping centers, main streets and competitors' sites. It needs no sensors or hardware at the location. Huq covers 35 markets in total, so you can compare places in different countries on the same basis. More than 1,000 locations are manually validated in each market twice a year.
