Place analytics is the analysis of how people use physical places: how many visit, when, for how long and from where. Huq measures this for any US address, from a single store to a downtown, updated weekly, with map layers for POIs, brand locations, industries and shopping center types so you can compare like with like. Huq manually validates more than 1,000 locations in each of its 35 markets twice a year. Start with a free report for one location.

The overview is a tour of the Huq platform. Watch how the Explore map lets you draw any area or pick one from layers such as brand locations, industries, retail centers and ZIP codes, and how each area returns foot traffic, catchment and behavior metrics. For place analytics, that is the core loop. Projects then hold the places you monitor, and reports and exports carry the results to your team.

Place analytics is the analysis of how people use physical places. It measures visits to a store, shopping center, main street or district, when those visits happen, how long people stay, how often they return and where they travel from. Place intelligence is the same idea taken to a decision: what the numbers mean for where to open, invest or intervene.
The term is used loosely. Some vendors use it for workplace occupancy, others for points-of-interest databases or public-sector dashboards. Here it means visit-based measurement of real places, the kind retailers, landlords, investors and city teams rely on.
Location intelligence is the broader field. Place analysis narrows it to the place and the people who use it. In Huq's Explore map you draw any area or pick one from layers such as POIs, brand locations, industries, retail centers and ZIP codes, then read its foot traffic, catchment and behavior.

Location analytics is the analysis of data tied to places, such as addresses, sales by store, demographics or visits, to answer questions like where to open or which sites underperform. Place analytics is the visit-based part of it. Huq measures weekly visits, catchment, dwell time and visit frequency for any US address, comparable with nearby places and competitors.
Location intelligence is the wider practice of turning location data, including maps, addresses, demographics, routing and visits, into business decisions. Place intelligence is one part of it, centered on how people use a specific place: how many visit, when, for how long and from where. Huq provides that visit layer.
POI (point of interest) data is a database of places, such as stores, restaurants and venues, with names, addresses, categories and often boundaries. It tells you what is where. Place analytics adds how those places are used. In Huq, POIs and brand locations are map layers, so you can pick any place, including competitor sites, and see visits, dwell time and catchment.
Choose one US place, such as a store, shopping center or district. We send a sample report with weekly visits, catchment, dwell time, visit frequency and a benchmark against comparable places. It is free and needs no hardware or data from you.
Weekly. Each new week is added to the history, so you can follow trends as they build and measure the effect of openings, events or changes to a place without waiting for a quarterly report.
