Huq platform overview video: a visitor heat map

The overview video walks through the Huq platform from first search to finished report. Watch how an area is drawn on the Explore map, how foot traffic, catchment and behavior appear for it, and how results move into Projects and exports. Those are the steps you'd use for most location questions, whether you're screening a site, checking a lease or tracking a portfolio.

  • Explore map: draw any area or pick ZIP code, shopping center and brand layers to see how a place performs before you visit.
  • Projects: monitor a whole list of sites at once and track each one from not started to complete.
  • Exports and data feeds: CSV, Excel or monthly PDF reports, or Parquet and CSV files delivered into your Amazon S3 or Google Cloud Storage bucket.

What is location intelligence software?

Location intelligence software analyzes geographic data to show patterns tied to physical places. Most tools put a map together with layers such as foot traffic estimates, competitor locations and trade areas, so teams can decide where to open, lease, expand or invest. Some are GIS suites for mapping your own data. Others supply the measurements without a dashboard.

For location decisions, the useful part is measured behavior at the place itself: how many people visit each week, where they travel from, how long they stay and where else they go. Expansion teams use it to screen sites and size trade areas. Landlords use it to show what a center attracts. Investors use it to check how a portfolio is trading.

Huq is built to give you the broadest set of location data in one platform: foot traffic, residents versus visitors, catchment and drive time, dwell, cross-visitation, and POI and brand layers. It isn't a GIS suite or a vehicle tracking tool. Use it on the Explore map, export it, or take it as data feeds into your own systems.

What's in your location intelligence analysis

01

Weekly foot traffic trends

Visits to the site week by week, with year-over-year comparison so you can separate a trend from a blip.

02

Catchment and drive time

Where visitors come from and how far they travel, showing the trade area the site really serves.

03

Dwell time and visit frequency

How long people stay and how often they come back, a clear read on visit quality.

04

Benchmarking against nearby brands

Your site's visits, dwell and catchment beside the competitors and brand locations you pick on the map.

What a location intelligence analysis shows

These views come from Huq's sample analysis. The same measures are available as CSV or Excel exports and in monthly PDF location reports.

Weekly visits, this year vs last

A line chart of weekly visits with last year overlaid. Gaps between the lines show whether a site is growing, flat or slipping.

Where visitors come from

02

Where visitors come from

A catchment map shading ZIP codes by share of visitors. It shows the real trade area, which rarely matches a simple radius.

Frequently asked questions

How is location intelligence software different from GIS software?

GIS software is a toolkit for building and analyzing maps from your own data. Location intelligence software adds the data about places. Huq supplies that layer, from foot traffic and catchment to POI and brand locations, and doesn't replace a GIS suite. Its data feeds, Parquet or CSV files delivered into Amazon S3 or Google Cloud Storage, load into the GIS or BI tools you already use.

What does location intelligence do?

It turns data about places into answers for location decisions: where to open, which sites to keep, what a property attracts and how a portfolio is trading. Huq does this in one platform. For any US address you see weekly foot traffic, where visitors come from and how far they travel, how long they stay and where else they go.

How often is location intelligence data updated?

Huq data updates weekly. Each week adds a new data point to the site's history, so you can see trends build, compare year over year and spot changes after a store opening, closure or refit without waiting for a quarterly report.

Does Huq cover locations across the US?

Yes. Huq measures visits to stores, shopping centers, main streets and other addresses across the US, and in 35 markets in total. No sensors or cameras are needed, so you can analyze any address, including a competitor's site, the same way you analyze your own. More than 1,000 locations are manually validated in each market twice a year.

What's in the free location intelligence analysis?

Send us one US address, yours or a competitor's. We'll prepare a free analysis showing weekly foot traffic, where visitors come from and how long they stay, then walk you through it. There's no commitment and no hardware to install.

Who uses location intelligence?

Retail and restaurant expansion teams use it to screen sites and size trade areas. Landlords and property managers use it to show what a center attracts. Investors use it to check how assets are trading. Cities and downtown groups use it to track visits to main streets. More than 300 organizations use Huq.
