Shopping centre footfall tells landlords and asset managers how many people visit a centre, how long they stay and where they come from. Huq measures it for any UK shopping centre, including the competing centres you don't own, every week. Use it to back leasing conversations, show performance to investors and compare your centre with rivals in the same catchment.

The overview is a tour of the whole platform. For a centre, the useful part is the shopping centre layer on the Explore map, which lets you pick your centre and its rivals. Then consider the monthly PDF location report: it is the format most owners would pass to investors and prospective tenants.

Shopping centre footfall is the number of visits a centre receives over a period. For owners it is the headline number behind rents, leasing pitches and valuations, and prospective tenants ask for it early.
Most centres already count people at their entrances. Those counts are good for your own centre but say nothing about competing centres, who your visitors are, or how far they travel. Huq fills that gap. It measures visits to the centre as a whole, along with catchment by postcode, dwell time, dayparts, demographics and cross-visitation with other locations. It does the same for rival centres, so you can benchmark fairly.
Huq is not an in-centre sensor system: it doesn't count by mall corridor or by entrance. Use it alongside your own counters to add the outside view.

Some centres publish headline visitor numbers, and industry monitors publish averages across many centres. Huq gives weekly footfall for any UK shopping centre, including ones you don't own, so you can compare centres on the same basis and export the figures as CSV or Excel.
Find out where visitors come from and where the gaps are. Huq's catchment shows which postcodes under-visit, cross-visitation shows which rival centres share your visitors, and dwell time and dayparts show when the centre is quiet. Then track the effect of events, new tenants and campaigns week by week.
No. Huq measures visits to the centre as a whole and doesn't count by entrance or mall corridor. Most owners use it alongside their counters, to benchmark against competing centres and add catchment, dwell and visitor profiles their counters can't provide.
Huq validates against landlord-reported footfall and publishes its accuracy by country: an 18.7% median error in Great Britain, well under the 30% level considered healthy. Huq also manually validates more than 1,000 locations in each of its 35 markets twice a year.
Data refreshes weekly. Huq covers any address in the UK, so every shopping centre, retail park and high street is in scope, including your competitors. The same method applies across Huq's 35 markets for owners with centres abroad.
Use the form on this page to list your centres and, if you like, the rivals you want to benchmark. Huq's team runs a free analysis of visits, catchment and dwell for them and walks you through the results.
