Dwell time analysis shows how long visitors stay at a location, alongside how often they return and what time of day they come. Huq measures dwell time, visit frequency and dayparts for any UK address, so you can compare your stores with each other, with competitors and with the shopping centre or high street around them. No cameras, Wi-Fi or counters are needed, and data refreshes weekly.

The overview covers the whole Huq platform. If dwell time is your question, focus on two parts: how any store, centre or high street is selected or drawn on the Explore map, and the monthly PDF location report, which carries dwell, dayparts and weekday patterns for colleagues who don't log in.

Dwell time is how long a visitor stays at a location. In retail it is a useful signal of engagement: longer visits usually mean browsing, eating or using several units, while short visits suggest a quick, planned trip. Dwell time analysis compares those visit lengths across stores, periods and times of day.
UK teams use it in different ways. Shopping centre landlords check whether a new food and leisure line-up keeps people on site longer. Town centre managers and BIDs read dwell alongside footfall to judge events. Restaurant and coffee chains check whether visit length fits their format.
Most dwell measurement needs hardware such as cameras, Wi-Fi or door counters, and only works at sites you control. Huq measures dwell time, visit frequency and dayparts at any UK address, including competitors' stores, so you can benchmark rather than look at one site in isolation.

Dwell time is how long a visitor stays at a location, such as a store, a shopping centre or a high street. In retail it's read alongside footfall: two sites with similar visit numbers can behave very differently if one keeps people for twice as long.
Traditionally with cameras, Wi-Fi analytics or door counters, which only work at sites you control. Huq measures dwell time at any UK address with no hardware, so you can measure your own stores and restaurants and compare them with competitors and nearby centres.
Longer dwell usually means people are using more of the centre: shopping several units, eating or staying for leisure. Landlords use dwell time and visit frequency to judge tenant mix changes, events and refurbishments, and to give leasing teams evidence of how the centre is used.
Pick a store, centre or high street, and a comparison site if you like. We'll show you dwell time, visit frequency and dayparts for those locations, so you can see whether the data fits your question. It's free, with no obligation and nothing to install.
Huq data refreshes weekly, so you can follow dwell time and visit frequency week by week, compare periods and check the effect of an event or refit. Monthly PDF location reports summarise dwell, dayparts and weekday patterns for stakeholders.
Any address in the UK: high streets, town centres, shopping centres, retail parks, competitors' stores and sites you haven't opened. Huq's published median error in Great Britain is 18.7% against landlord-reported footfall, and it checks more than 1,000 locations per market by hand twice a year.
