Footfall analytics from Huq explains why visits to a UK location rise or fall, not just how many there are. For any store, high street, shopping centre or venue, see when people arrive, how long they stay, how often they return and how the trend compares with regional and national benchmarks. Monthly PDF reports and Projects turn that into a regular review for your team or board. No counters are needed.

The overview covers Huq end to end. For footfall analysis, keep an eye on two parts. The Explore map is where you pick any UK place, from a single unit to a whole town centre. Projects are where you would group those places for a monthly review, with status tracking and reports you can share with a board or client.

Footfall analytics turns visit counts into decisions. It answers questions such as: is this store underperforming, or is the whole town centre down? Is a centre's Saturday peak shrinking? Does staffing match when people actually arrive? Did a council's regeneration scheme lift footfall and dwell more than in similar towns?
Most UK footfall analysis has been built on counters at your own doors, which tell you about your own sites well. Huq works on any address, so the same analysis covers rivals, retail parks you're considering and high streets you don't trade on yet. In Huq's Ripon BID case, footfall was up 164% year on year.
Huq publishes its accuracy by country: an 18.7% MAPE in Great Britain against landlord-reported footfall. JD Sports, a UK retailer, reported 25% more precise catchment analysis and 18% lower new-store location risk.

Footfall data is the raw count of visits over time. Footfall analytics puts it in context: trends against regional and national benchmarks, dayparts, dwell, visit frequency and comparison with other places. Huq offers both. Analysts can take the data as exports or feeds; commercial teams usually work in the platform and the monthly PDF reports.
Counters and cameras measure the doors they're fitted to. Huq needs no hardware: you draw any area on a map, or pick an address, and see its footfall. That means you can measure competitors' stores and sites you haven't opened. Huq publishes an 18.7% median error in Great Britain against landlord-reported footfall.
At minimum: total visits, the trend against last period and last year, and a benchmark so you know whether the market moved. Huq's monthly PDF location reports add weekday patterns, a density map, catchment, dayparts and dwell time, so one file covers most review meetings.

Huq's data refreshes weekly, so dashboards and trends move every week. You can view any location by week, month or year and track period-on-period change. Average daily footfall is available as a metric within each period, but the data itself updates once a week.
Yes. Tell Huq which sites you want to look at, your own or competitors', and the team will prepare a free analysis of your locations. It's a quick way to check the numbers against what you already know before deciding whether the platform suits your team.
