White space analysis tells you where a new store would reach shoppers your brand does not serve today. Huq gives Nordic retail teams weekly footfall, catchment and brand location data for any address in its Nordic markets. Use Huq's White Space Analysis tool with the Explore map to compare capital-city districts, regional towns and out-of-town shopping centres, with travel-time catchments that reflect real distances.

The video shows Huq in general, not a white space demo. Pay attention to the travel-time layer on the Explore map. In the Nordics, a travel-time catchment says more than a simple radius. Combine it with brand locations, industries and weekly footfall to judge each gap.

White space analysis finds areas with demand for your type of store where your brand has no presence. White space mapping is the visual side: the gaps shown on a map next to your stores and your competitors.
In the Nordics, distance changes the answer. Many shoppers live in and around a few large cities, and regional towns can be far apart. A 10 km radius means something very different in a capital than in a regional town, so white space work here should use travel time, not just distance. Brands that do well at home often look next at a neighbouring Nordic country, where they have to learn the map from scratch.
Huq's White Space Analysis tool works with the Explore map layers for footfall, catchment, travel time, brand locations and industries. Huq has 800+ validated target areas across Europe.
01
Weekly footfall, trends and visiting vs passing traffic for city districts, towns and shopping centres.
02
Catchments by postcode and by travel time, so remote and urban sites are judged fairly.
03
See where you, your competitors and complementary brands trade in each Nordic market you cover.
04
Shopping centre and retail centre layers help compare city centre and out-of-town options.
Three views that help you decide where the next store goes, at home or across a border.

01
Brand location layers show where you and competitors trade. Towns and centres with strong footfall and no store of yours within reach stand out.

02
Travel-time catchments show how far shoppers really come to each area, which matters where towns are far apart.

03
Weekly footfall and period-on-period change show whether a candidate area is growing or flat, and how it moves through the seasons.
Step 1
Add up to five addresses in the form. Your own stores, candidate sites or competitors.
