Huq's location data tells you how people use any place in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. It covers shopping streets, city centres, shopping centres and single stores, including competitors' sites. You get footfall by week, month and year, residents and visitors, catchment by postcode and visit patterns. It arrives weekly, as Parquet or CSV feeds into Amazon S3 or Google Cloud Storage, or through the platform and Excel exports.

Pay attention to what comes back when a site is chosen on the Explore map: footfall over time, catchment, and the split between residents and visitors. Those are the measures your analysts would load from the weekly data feed. If they answer your Benelux questions on screen, they will answer them in your warehouse too.

  • Choosing a site or drawing an area on the Explore map.
  • Footfall trends and visiting versus passing traffic.
  • Catchment and visitor origin, ready to export.

What is location data, and who uses it in Benelux?

Location data is information about how people move to and use places. For a business, the useful version is simple. How many people visit a site each week? Where do they come from? How does this site compare with the next one?

In the Benelux, buyers are retail chains with dense store networks, owners of shopping centres and city-centre property, and investors checking assets. Many also buy a separate retail database for store lists. Huq adds what such databases do not show: how busy each place actually is, week by week.

Huq publishes its accuracy by country against landlord-reported footfall: a 15.7% MAPE in the Netherlands and 17.0% in Belgium. Huq also has 800+ validated target areas across Europe.
